The Monument indicating the arrival of Vasco-da-Gama, Kappad in Kerala stands as a testament to the historic landing of the Portuguese explorer on Indian soil. It is located on the beach of Kappad in Kozhikode, Kerala, and marks the spot where Vasco-da-Gama first set foot in India in 1498. The monument was built in 1971 to commemorate the 450th anniversary of the landing.

NEAR BY ATTRACTION - KADALUR POINT LIGHTHOUSE

The Kadalur Point Lighthouse also known as nandi lighthouse is situated in Kadalur, near Koyilandy in Kozhikode district on the coast of Arabian sea in India.The circular stone masonry tower has a height of 34 meters. The tower is painted with black and white bands. The lighthouse started its operation in 1907. The light source is a metal halide lamp.
